Ben Davies enjoyed an excellent campaign on loan with Blues

- By ALEX DICKEN

CHRIS Davies has not ruled out bringing Ben Davies back to Blues, despite signing left-footed centre-back Eiran Cashin to replace him.

Davies enjoyed an excellent campaign on loan from Rangers last term and played an instrumental role in Blues’ record-breaking League One title triumph.

The 29-year-old played 44 games in all competitions and helped the team to an impressive 23 clean sheets.

There was no option to buy Davies included in the loan agreement so he returned to Ibrox but hasn’t been able to work under new boss Russell Martin due to an injury.

He hasn’t featured in any of Rangers’ preseason matches and they have strengthened their defensive options with two new signings.

Blues have four centre-backs in their first-team squad in Christoph Klarer, Phil Neumann, Krystian Bielik and Cashin, but Chris Davies has left the door open for his namesake to return if something changes.
