Couple urge residents to open home to those in need

A BIRMINGHAM couple are urging locals to open up their homes to young people without a place to stay.

Homeless charity St Basils is backing calls for more 'supported lodgings hosts' to help young people at risk of homelessness across Birmingham, Solihull and Worcestershire.

Micah and Eleanor began hosting through St Basils after learning how straightforward it could be to offer a spare room and a bit of stability to a young person in need.

They said becoming hosts has changed not only the lives of the young people they've welcomed into their home, but their own families too.

"As a family, we've always wanted to make the most of what we have to support others," they said.
