Clock ticking for misfiring goal machine

'GOALS,' beamed a confident Kyogo Furuhashi when asked what he would be bringing to Birmingham City's party shortly after signing for the club in July.

The Japanese striker was the marquee signing of a summer transfer window that brought 12 new players to St Andrew's.

Kyogo's record of 85 goals in 165 games for Celtic set pulses racing and promised plenty.

However, five months since the ink dried on the three-year contract Blues handed to 30-year-old Kyogo, the striker is still waiting for his first Championship goal.

A tap-in against Sheffield United in a Carabao Cup tie in August is the only goal Kyogo has registered since leaving Celtic 12 months ago.
