City market stole the show on comeback year for food

AFTER 2024 proved to be a volatile year for Birmingham restaurants, the last 12 months felt a little less brutal for foodies in the city.

While we saw closures, it didn’t feel like the bad news was coming as thick and fast as it was last year. And when the good news came, it was really, really exciting.

We saw Glynn Purnell’s comeback in the form of Trillium, a really cool new food hall hangout by Snow Hill station with great pizzas and sandos, and the truly spectacular Indian Cafe Racer opened its beautiful new restaurant, with some of the best food you'll find anywhere in town.

There was plenty more too. But there's been one new opening that truly blew our socks off.
