'Car cannibal' strips Golf in dead of night

CAR ‘cannibals’ struck in Sutton Coldfield loitering in a road, then stripping a vehicle.

It happened in Eastern Road, Boldmere, shortly after 4am on Wednesday.
The Golf GTI’s bonnet, bumper lights and number plate, were taken, leaving the engine exposed.
The owner, Jez Merckel, believes the crooks were in the road ‘for two hours’ before targeting his vehicle.
