Cannabis grower tipped off police after thieves 'came for drugs'

A CANNABIS grower who tipped off police about his own £26,000 farm after fearing thieves had eyed up his drugs, has been given a suspended jail sentence.

Darren Taylor rang 999 when he became concerned masked men near his home were set to ransack his secret drugs den.
Taylor, 56, confessed to growing cannabis when police came to his aid but insisted the entire setup was for personal use. He later revealed how he actually owed an 'unpleasant' dealer £2,800 so turned to cannabis production to clear his debt.
