OWNER SAYS SHE WAS 'DEVASTATED' WHEN TURNAROUND FROM ZERO TO FIVE-STAR RATING WASN'T LOGGED ONLINE
Kitchen Garden Café owner Tracey Fletcher was forced to close her eaterie after mice droppings were found, but the venue now boasts the top hygiene rating
THE boss of a Birmingham café that was closed down by Environmental Heath last year and fined after mice were discovered in its kitchen has spoken of how it fought back “straight away” to achieve the highest Food Hygiene Rating standard - but customers couldn’t see their new five-star rating due to a council computer system mix-up.
Kitchen Garden Café, a coffee shop and community space on Kings Heath's trendy York Road, was fined nearly £3,000 and given a zero Food Hygiene Rating after droppings were discovered in a number of locations around the venue in spring 2025.
