Anger and sadness as woman, 21, killed on 'horrendous' road

The 21-year-old woman, who has not been named by police, was in collision with a car in Brassington Avenue on Friday, August 22.

She was declared dead a short time later, despite the best efforts of medics and people who went to her aid.

A second woman suffered leg injuries in the tragedy which happened just before midnight.

Police have since arrested two men on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. One has been released with no further action to be taken and the other has been bailed.

The victim has not officially been named, but messages and tributes near the crash scene were left to 'Natasha'.
