Fun Science has earned praise in its first Ofsted inspection
A "strong sense of belonging" and "experiences that spark curiosity" have earned praise from Ofsted inspectors visiting a holiday club in Bath.
Fun Science, based at St Barnabas Church Hall on Mount View, provides school holiday childcare for children aged four to 10, and was found to meet all the requirements in its first ever inspection.
During the inspection on Thursday, February 20, children were observed arriving "happily" and engaging in a wide variety of activities planned by "enthusiastic and caring staff". Inspectors noted: "Children quickly become engaged in a wide range of activities and experiences that staff have planned for them."
The children played together across age groups, completing floor puzzles, board games and even building towers as tall as themselves. Staff joined in and attentively listened to children's ideas which, according to the report, helped children feel valued.
The club, which registered in 2022, operates during school holidays from Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm and is run by Fun Science Bristol Ltd. The staff team consists of six members, one of whom holds a teaching qualification.
