Troops detain 54 foreign nationals fleeing KK Park

Troops in Mae Sot have detained 54 foreign nationals who fled KK Park in Myanmar’s Myawaddy township amid a junta crackdown on the scam centre, according to border sources.

Soldiers from the Ratchamanu Task Force arrested 39 foreign nationals of 12 different nationalities after they crossed illegally into Thailand near Ban Mae Tao in Mae Sot district. The group included 34 men and five women, with 12 coming from Pakistan, India (2), Nepal (2), Uganda (3), South Sudan (1), Kenya (12), Egypt (1), Vietnam (3), Kazakhstan (1), Burundi (1), and Rwanda (1).
