Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Minneapolis on Saturday, chanting the name of a woman killed by a federal agent, as anger grew over the use of force in the Trump administration's immigration crackdown.

Organisers said more than 1,000 protest events were planned across the United States under the slogan “ICE, Out for Good”, referring to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which has drawn increasing opposition over its role in President Donald Trump's mass deportation campaign.

The slogan also refers to Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother who was shot dead in her car by an ICE agent on Wednesday.
