Thailand Post changes flight routes to avoid Middle East war

State logistics service provider Thailand Post is rerouting its international express parcel shipments as a result of the conflict in the Middle East, while maintaining the current service fee rates.

The state agency has been seeking alternative routes to ensure service continuity due to the cancellation of many flights to the Middle East and airspace closures.

Thailand Post chief Dhanant Subhadrabandhu said the conflict has necessitated the use of non-optimised paths, leading to some delivery delays.

“We're working closely with logistics partners and various airlines to mitigate the impact,” he said.

The development is going ahead under the company’s business continuity plan to ensure quality of service, in parallel with daily monitoring of the developing situation.

However, the state enterprise is optimistic that the disruption will be short-lived.
