RTN slams Cambodia truce violation

Denies rival's claim of looting weapons

The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) has condemned Cambodia for its recent ceasefire violation, saying the incident shows the country's lack of commitment to border peace.

Rear Admiral Paraj Ratanajaipan, spokesman for the RTN, yesterday criticised Cambodia for firing a grenade launcher into Thai territory in Nam Yuen district of Ubon Ratchathani in front of Hill 469 around 7.25am on Tuesday, resulting in one Thai soldier being injured.

He said the attack reflects a lack of sincerity on the part of the Cambodian government under Prime Minister Hun Manet in adhering to the ceasefire pact.
