RID warns of incoming heavy rain

Order to mobilise defence units issued
The Royal Irrigation Department (RID) is warning all regional units to brace for incoming heavy rainfall.
Another round of monsoon-driven downpours is on the way, and personnel, machinery, and emergency equipment must be ready, it warned.
The directive was announced during a meeting of the Water Situation Monitoring and Analysis Subcommittee, chaired by Det Lekwichai, RID deputy director-general, at the Smart Water Operation Centre (SWOC) in Bangkok yesterday.
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD), the Department of Water Resources, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat), and all 17 regional irrigation offices attended.
The discussion focused on analysing weather forecasts and water levels in major reservoirs and rivers.
