Restoration set as landmines ring temple

An urgent restoration plan is being prepared for Ta Kwai temple in Surin after authorities found sections of the ancient ruins at risk of collapse, while landmines in the surrounding area have forced strict access controls.

Lt Col Sarayut Malasai, commander of the 22nd Infantry Battalion under Task Force 2, said a team of the Fine Arts Department (FAD) recently inspected the ruins and warned that parts of the structure could subside or collapse.
