Push to reduce dropouts

The government is intensifying efforts to tackle teenage pregnancy and prevent adolescents from dropping out of school through the Thailand Zero Dropout initiative.

The campaign set a goal of reducing the birth rate among girls aged 10-14 years to no more than 0.5 per 1,000 by 2027, and among girls aged 15-19 years to no more than 15 per 1,000 by 2027.

Deputy government spokeswoman Airin Phanrit said the administration is coordinating with relevant agencies under the Committee on Prevention and Solution of Teenage Pregnancy Problems, stressing that adolescent health and education are a national priority.
