PP sticks to guns in backing Pisan for FM

The People's Party (PP) yesterday defended its plan to appoint veteran diplomat and former senator Pisan Manawapat as foreign minister if it forms the next government, saying his political stances are in line with the party's direction.
PP leader Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut said he could not speak for Mr Pisan's political views during the period when he served as Thai ambassador to the United States after the 2014 coup, but the former diplomat demonstrated his stances through his actions while serving as a senator.
