Poll questions strongman Hun Sen’s role in border row

Asurvey by National Institute of Development Administration (Nida) shows most Thais believe that Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen’s critical remarks about the Thai-Cambodian border tension were motivated by personal gain.

The Nida Poll surveyed 1,310 participants aged 18 and over nationwide from June 30 to July 2. Participants were allowed to give multiple responses to listed questions.

When asked what they thought of Hun Sen’s role in the border dispute, about 67.63% said the Cambodian strongman acted for his own benefit.
