He made remarks while supporting Penpisut Jintasophon, MP candidate in Constituency 3 in the Bang Kho Laem-Yannawa area, a long-established multicultural community in the capital and home to many Muslims.

The visit included the Charoen Krung 103 canalside market, the economic heart of the community.

Pheu Thai has unveiled its first package of policies, including a 20-baht flat fare on electric trains, 10-baht air-conditioned bus fares and a reduction in electricity tariffs to 3.70 baht per unit.

More policies would follow, he said.

"We still have two more surprises for Thais. Please stay tuned," the Pheu Thai leader said.
