Over 139k Thais abroad registered to vote: MFA

More than 139,000
Thais living overseas have registered to vote in the upcoming general election, while 95,666 have signed up to vote in the referendum, with Australia recording the highest numbers for both, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.MFA spokesperson Nikorndej Balankura said overseas voter registration was open at Thai embassies and consulates worldwide from Dec 20, 2025 to Jan 5.
A total of 139,535 people registered to vote in the election, an increase of 21.09% from 115,227 in the 2023 election, making it one of the highest overseas registration figures to date.
