Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, the action movie from Paramount Global, won China's consent for release on May 30, according to people familiar with the matter.
The decision follows the approval in recent weeks for other Hollywood pictures to play in Chinese theatres, such as Disney's live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch and How To Train Your Dragon from Universal Pictures.
The move suggests there's been no measurable retaliation against Hollywood as a result of trade tensions between the US and China.
