Gold jumps in response to new Trump tariff threats

Gold prices rallied late last week to finish their best week since early April, as investors sought the safe-haven asset amid renewed tariff threats from US President Donald Trump and a weaker dollar.

The afternoon fixing on Friday in London was $3,342.65 an ounce, compared with $3,182.95 a week earlier. Thai selling prices were quoted at 51,600 baht per baht-weight (15.2 grammes), up 1,050 baht from the previous week.
"If we break above the $3,500 mark, we can get a clean shot up to $3,800," said Daniel Pavilonis, senior market strategist at RJO Futures.
