Democrats to unveil city contenders
Bangkok Post
|December 18, 2025
The Democrat Party plans to unveil its candidates for Bangkok constituencies on Monday after completing primary voting, party secretary-general Chaiwut Bannawat said.
He said primaries in other provinces began yesterday and are expected to conclude within three days, after which shortlisted names will be submitted to the party’s selection committee and executive board for final approval.
The party is expected to introduce candidates in other provinces on Dec 25 and aims to field contenders in all 400 constituencies nationwide, Mr Chaiwut said. He added some potential candidates may be disqualified for failing to meet legal requirements, such as having missed previous local elections.
