Cabinet meet to discuss 3rd handout plan

The third phase of the government's 10,000-baht money handout scheme will be included in the cabinet meeting next week ahead of its scheduled rollout between May and June, Deputy Finance Minister Julapun Amornvivat said.

Mr Julapun stated yesterday that the proposal has already been submitted to the Secretariat of the Cabinet and is expected to be reviewed during the upcoming cabinet session.

He said the government plans to proceed with the distribution of funds within the second quarter of this year, as initially announced.

"This remains in line with the original timeline. Everything is well prepared, and no changes have been made," he said.

The third phase of the scheme was approved in March as part of a broader economic stimulus package. It targets 2.7 million young people aged 16 to 20, who will each receive 10,000 baht via digital wallets.
