BoT to meet this week on interest rates

The Bank of Thailand’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will meet this week to decide whether it will adjust policy interest rates, says Deputy Finance Minister Paopoom Rojanasakul.

The MPC is scheduled to hold talks on Wednesday, he said, and it is authorised by the BoT to review if any changes should be made to the current interest rates.

Mr Paopoom said the MPC will take into consideration factors including inflation and economic growth in addition to exchange rates when making a decision.
