Anutin slams post of Chinese adviser to Prachin Buri

Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul criticised the Prachin Buri Provincial Administration’s appointment of a Chinese adviser as inappropriate and apologised to the public for the concerns it stirred online.

Mr Anutin, also the Interior Minister, said he had received a report yesterday on the appointment of a Chinese national, Zhu Juncheng, as an adviser to the provincial governor, Weerapun Dee-on.

Mr Anutin apologised to the public after the appointment caused concerns that hidden foreign interests played a part. “If there was a hidden interest, it would not be a public appointment in the first place. However, for the sake of fairness, this is all about appropriateness,” he said.
