Agency sees promise in creative economy

The Creative Economy Agency (CEA), a public organisation, says the creative economy could be Thailand’s new growth driver.

Chaiyong Ratana-Angkura, chairman of the CEA, said the country faces numerous challenges, including slow economic growth, a changing trade landscape and geopolitical issues.

This indicates the country must not rely on traditional manufacturing and supply chain models that depend on labour cost and geographic location advantages, said Mr Chaiyong.

At the CEA Forum 2026, he emphasised Thailand must build new economic engines by using creative industries to generate revenue.
