Somtow Sucharitkul partners with King’s College International School Bangkok to establish its art theatre as the new home for Opera Siam’s 2026 season

At an event for Old Etonians at the Royal Bangkok Sports Club, National Artist Somtow Sucharitkul ran into one of the founders of King’s Bangkok, a fairly new high-end international school connected with Wimbledon College in England, and learned that the school had a state-of-the-art, brand new performing space.
It seated 600 people in modern comfort, was well inside Bangkok's city limits, had ample parking and even a shopping mall on the premises.
The theatre was the kind of space Somtow dreamed of — accessible, easy to fill, with great sound and thoroughly modern facilities.
After a discussion with the management of King’s College International School, Somtow entered into a far-reaching agreement and has embarked on a visionary plan to make the venue into a new hub for cultural events in the region.
