LUIS GABRIEL GUEMBES, 15, ATTENDED ALL HALLOWS SCHOOL

- By JOSEPH BICKLE

Teen stab victim was Farnham school pupil

SURREY Police has officially named the boy killed in a Guildford stabbing on Monday last week as two teens appeared in court charged with his murder.

Officers were called to woodland off Lido Road, in Stoke Park, at 6.10pm on Monday, January 19 following reports of the incident. Despite the best efforts of police, paramedics and members of the public, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has now been formally identified by police as 15-year-old Luis Gabriel Guembes, having been identified in a family-supported fundraising page. Luis Gabriel’s family has requested privacy to come to terms with their loss, and officers have asked the public to respect their wishes.

The fundraising page, which was set up in the USA by a family friend, has now collected more than $24,000 to support Luis' parents. On the page Luis Gabriel, who attended All Hallows School in Farnham, is described as a “devoted” student and a “passionate” soccer player with a “smile that could light up a room and a heart that touched everyone he met”.

An update provided on the GoFundMe page by its organiser, Michelle Alayon, who is based in the USA, said: "The support we've received has genuinely touched our hearts and we cannot thank everyone enough. I will provide more updates as they come at the family’s discretion. Thank you all".

A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy who were arrested following the incident and cannot be named because of their age, have been charged with murder, conspiracy to rob and possession of a bladed article.
