Film captures grief behind challenge to scale peaks

A FITNESS coach and keen mountain biker from Fleet pushed himself to the physical limit in the summer with his Challenge for Change, raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity.

Dan Schneider's very own take on the Three Peaks Challenge took place in July and has been captured in a documentary that is both a record of the testing fundraiser, and of the impact a brain tumour has on a family.

The 23-year-old hiked up, then biked down the UK’s three peaks - Ben Nevis, Scafel Pike and Snow-don - in 72 hours, raising more than £7,000. He devised the “one of a kind” challenge in tribute to his mum, Penny Schneider, who died last year from a glioblastoma brain tumour, the most common aggressive form of the disease in adults.

This Saturday, at the Harlington Theatre, in Fleet, Dan will mark the end of his fundraising campaign with a charity film premiere in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity.
