Shaktisinh Gohil Steps Down as Gujarat Congress President

Resignation follows the party's failure to win a seat in by-elections in Visavadar and Kadi

Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Shaktisinh Gohil on Monday stepped down from the post after mailing his resignation to the party president. His resignation follows the party's poor performance in the by-elections for Visavadar and Kadi, the results of which were announced on Monday. Accepting moral responsibility for the loss in the by-elections, Gohil said he decided to step down.

When asked if his resignation had been accepted, Gohil told Mirror that he has insisted with the higher-ups to accept his resignation and there should not be any issue with the same.
