RTO construction deadline extended; firm served notice

The deadline for the completion of the new Subhash Bridge RTO building has been extended once again. The RTO has been operating from a rented facility for the last seven years.
Sources within the RTO indicate that the Road and Building Department has issued a notice to the construction company for consistently missing deadlines.
The Subhash Bridge RTO currently operates from rented premises, incurring a monthly rent of Rs 14 lakh. The Transport Department initiated construction work for the new building in 2021.
