Cross-complaints filed, police response under scrutiny
A long-standing dispute over a cancelled membership boiled over into violence at the elite Orient Club in Ellisbridge late on Tuesday night. Two groups clashed fiercely, leaving many injured and a vehicle damaged. The brawl reportedly involved sharp weapons, belts and pipes. Both sides filed cross-complaints.
Member's complaint
Divyang Shah, an LIC agent and seven-year committee member at the club, filed a complaint detailing the conflict's origins. According to him, the trouble began 18 months ago when former member Bhadresh Shah was expelled for breaking rules.
