A'bad commercial realty takes hit

Though both Gujarat and Ahmedabad have seen year-on-year decline, the latter has been affected more severely

Ahmedabad's commercial real estate market has taken a steep hit with investment falling by 261% in 2024-25 (Rs 3394 crore) compared to 2017-18 (Rs 8871 crore). Gujarat as a whole has also suffered, though less severely, with a 159% investment decline during the same period, from Rs 19,353 crore to Rs 12,152 crore.

The contrast becomes even sharper when examining unit numbers. Gujarat's commercial realty market has grown by 20% year-on-year in 2024-25. Ahmedabad, however, has moved in the opposite direction with a 1.4% decline over the same timeframe.
