MORE than 230 guests attended The Hyndburn Business Awards which celebrates the spirit of business success, innovation, hard-work, resilience and vision in the borough.

Hundreds turn out to celebrate borough's best

Finalists, sponsors, supporters, and dedicated volunteers gathered on Thursday, June 12 at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Clayton-le-Moors for the prestigious black tie event.

The evening began with a sparkling drinks reception generously hosted by the hotel. Guests enjoyed a three-course dinner accompanied by live entertainment from vocalist James Ashcroft.

Among the most spirited tables was the team from Croppers Butchers on table six.

The evening's Master of Ceremonies was once again Simon Brierley of East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. A particularly poignant moment came with a heartfelt tribute to George Cropper, affectionately known as “The King of Croppers Butchers”.

George passed away from bladder cancer at his home in Rising Bridge on May 5, 2025, on his 82nd birthday.
