ERIN JACKSON NEVER expected to be an Olympic speedskater. She grew up rollerskating in Ocala, Fla., transitioning to inline skating around age 10, and then competed in that sport through college, winning a dozen world-championship medals and 47 national titles. The U.S. Olympic Committee named Jackson athlete of the year, for roller sports, three times (2012, 2013, 2015).
