Jones delight as Caldy hit heights

THREE years ago Caldy players could only have dreamt of competing in the Championship, but the Merseyside club are on a roll having picked up three wins from their last four.

Next up are title favourites Ealing Trailfinders and Caldy wing Ben Jones is confident they can cause an upset on Saturday.

Caldy, who were promoted to the Championship in 2022 for the first time, went into the Christmas break on a high following victories at home to London Scottish, away at Ampthill, and title contenders Doncaster last time out in a 24-19 win at Paton Field.

Jones, 31, chipped in with nine points from the tee against the Knights he says their upturn in form after a slow start to the campaign is a collective squad effort.

"We're really pleased with where we're going," Jones told The Rugby Paper: "We started the season slower than we would have liked but we've kept a lot of the same squad with a few new faces and now everyone's finding their feet and getting used to our style of play.
