Itoje: We can go all the way

MARO Itoje insists England have buried their Six Nations nightmare and are ready to be a force at the World Cup in France.

The lock was part of the team that crashed to three defeats out of five again in the spring tournament and were thrashed 53-10 by the French at Twickenham.

Steve Borthwick’s side are currently fifth favourites for France 2023, despite a favourable draw which will see them avoid most of the big guns until the semi-finals.

They spent last week training in stifling Italian heat in Verona where temperatures were hitting 40 degrees as they played catch-up on the rest of the leading contenders.

And Itoje claims the French disaster will never happen again and England are ready to throw their hat in the ring as they bid to mark the 20th anniversary of their only World Cup win in style.
