Chester ready for test against best in West

A RESHUFFLE of National Two meant much confusion during the off season for Chester but after receiving confirmation of a place in the West league, head coach Guy Ford is excited for the new season.
Chester finished mid-table last season in Two North but as a consequence of Billingham, Lymm and Otley being promoted, the north west club have been moved across divisions.
Ford said: “Originally they put us in the North which was fine as we’re used to that league. We had anticipated going into the West and were surprised when they put us in the North and put Lymm in the West. So, we planned everything, got everyone on board for the North and then two weeks later they changed their mind.
“But we’re really excited about it, it’s an opportunity for the club to visit teams we’ve never visited before and have a crack at a new league. We were established in the North and had been in and around the top half since we got promoted 10 years ago.”
