SALISBURY boss Brian Dutton admits even he’s been surprised by how quite how good his league leaders have started this season – and now they’re determined to build on it and launch a promotion bid.

The Whites are top of the Southern Premier South following a summer reshape of the playing squad by Dutton and his assistant Callum Hart.

Last week’s comeback from two goals down to win 3-2 at Hanwell Town with a late winner epitomised what they’re building in Wiltshire.

“Me and my assistant Callum went out, watched players and hammered the recruitment,” former Salisbury player Dutton, who took over last season, tells The NLP.

“We’ve got a really good group together. We only kept three players from last season — and we’ve only got two currently now — so I was expecting a settling in period.

“But we’ve got off to a really good start and the lads have got better and better. The style of football we play is where we want to play through the thirds as much as possible.
