THE STRAY CAT

Stray Cats drummer Slim Jim Phantom was Lemmy's bandmate in Motörhead/rockabillly group The Head Cat.

It was Gene Vincent that introduced me to Lemmy, beginning a friendship that lasted for 35 years. In the summer of 1980, the Stray Cats played six or seven shows around London that are now considered legendary, at venues like Dingwalls, the Golden Lion and the Fulham Greyhound. They were attended by the hipster gang that included Joe Strummer, Glen Matlock and Chrissie Hynde. As a huge rockabilly boy, Lem was at a few of those.
