Like clockwork another month, another ludicrously fast electrified SUV. From a niche segment, buyers are now becoming spoiled for choice with almost every manufacturer staring down the same development path.

The Lotus Eletre might have a slightly easier chance of differentiating itself from the burgeoning pack. Firstly it’s a Lotus which comes with a certain rarity and sportscar cachet baked into it. And secondly, it could be the car that gets Lotus back on its feet, far more than the Evija ever could.  Lotus is wearing its sensible cap for this one. Besides following market trends, it seems to be priced right, looks functional with a dollop of Lamborghini flavor, comes with new-fangled tech and also launches with two derivatives – the Eletre and the Eletre R.
