RAJDOOT 350
THERE are very few motorcycles that have the same kind of cult following in India as the Rajdoot 350. After all, it was India's first performance-oriented motorcycle. The Rajdoot 350 is a licensed copy of the legendary Yamaha RD350B that was made in India by the Escorts group from 1983 to 1989. While the Japanese variant with its racing pedigree had over 40hp on tap, the Rajdoot 350 was modified to suit Indian conditions. Its 347cc two-stroke, air-cooled, parallel twin engine was capable of producing over 31 hp in the worki High torque version and around 27hp in the Low Torque version.
Despite a lower power output than its Japanese counterpart, the Rajdoot 350 was considerably faster than its competitors, including the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 and the Yezdi Roadking 250.
