British watch brand Bremont may be relatively young, but it has built a strong presence in the tool watch space in a short span of time. We spoke to CEO Davide Cerrato about what this journey has been like.

-Mechanical watchmaking is demanding, and giving these timepieces endurance makes them truly formidable. Endurance is the lodestar of tool watches that aim to brave extreme environments-depths of the ocean, the searing heat of deserts, magnetic fields, jolts and impacts. A tool watch must also be able to handle the rigours of daily life, all the while being legible at a glance, reliable under pressure, and function without fail. British watchmaker Bremont can tell you a thing or two about this.

Driven by the spirit of British adventurers and explorers, Bremont's arsenal focuses on robust, mechanical watches that are high on readability and comfort. Launched in 2002 by brothers and aviators Nick and Giles English, the brand, understandably, carries an aviation legacy (turn the page to read the box for how the brand got its name). Its three collections, though, cover the gamut of land and sea, along with air-Terra Nova, Supermarine, and Altitude. Its tool watches employ 904L stainless steel coupled with other materials like titanium, and are powered by high-grade Swiss movements.

Full-block Super-LumiNova" indexes in its Terra Nova line and Super-LumiNova®-filled applied indexes in its Supermarine collection prioritise visibility; legibility is addressed via dials topped with antireflective sapphire crystal. "We build watches that can live through the extremes, tested by pilots, divers, and adventurers.

That feedback loop is incredibly important for us. It ensures that our timepieces perform as instruments, not just accessories. It's not about simple marketing, it's about authenticity and proof of purpose," says Davide Cerrato, CEO, Bremont.
