There aren't many funny people around anymore. That's what struck me about the people I've lost recently - I miss the laughs. I've lost three special people in the past nine months. Funerals aren't unusual nowadays, but these deaths have really gotten to me. It's always when you least expect it that you crumble.

I went to Orientique for a meeting the other day and someone said, "You look tired, are you alright?"and I immediately burst into tears. It was embarrassing, but they were lovely. Seriously though, it's the history and shorthand you have with old friends that you really miss —because it's irreplaceable.
