WHERE LOVEBIRDS GO FOR SWEET ESCAPES

- Compiled by Belad Al-karkhey.

Love TRAILS

It’s the season of love, and a romantic getaway is always on the cards for my partner and I. From coastal weekends to cosy nights by the fire, you'll often find us daydreaming and planning our next adventure together. But sometimes, too many options – and not enough hours in a weekend – can have us struggling to settle on just the one itinerary. To help narrow down your next romantic trip for two, here are some of our favourite destinations in NSW – all Cupid-approved of course.

SYDNEY

When one thinks of Sydney, the Harbour Bridge and Opera House are usually first to come to mind. But it’s one of the most romantic places for a loved-up pair to spend a weekend away. The cobbled streets of The Rocks, with their fairy-lit trees and old-fashioned streetlamps, have a way of warming even the coldest nights (and hearts). And who could resist a picnic in the Royal Botanic Gardens on a bright summer day? For a quiet, intimate dinner, your best bet is to venture out west. Nestled in Parramatta Park, the inviting atmosphere and indulgent menu at Misc. is oh so satisfying. The Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, owned by Gogglebox favourite Jad Nehmetallah, is all about making memories through food. The woodfired pita bread with black garlic and truffle butter is a must, along with the lamb shoulder topped with minted labneh (Middle Eastern yoghurt) – slow-cooked to perfection
