From the stunning backdrops of Sydney Harbour in the 2023 rom-com Anyone but You to the sprawling Gold Coast sets used in hit films like Elvis and Aquaman, Australia has played host to some of Hollywood's biggest recent blockbusters.
But the work of our booming film industry could soon be on the chopping block, after a shock decision by US President Donald Trump.
Last week, Trump announced he planned to impose a 100 per cent tariff on films produced outside of the US. Trump said America's movie industry was "dying a very fast death" because of foreign incentives and declared them as a "national security threat".
Many have suggested the move is a "kick in the guts" that could devastate our film industry.
