Whispers that Samantha Armytage would be taking Sarah Abo's spot on Today seemed to be silenced last week, when the latter arrived arm-in-arm with her co-host, Karl Stefanovic, at Channel Nine's 2026 programming unveiling in Sydney.

Now, New Idea can reveal there is actually another TV project that Sam wants to get her hands on – hosting a reboot of Midday!

As Sam prepares to debut her first Nine property, The Golden Bachelor, sources tell New Idea that network executives have been seriously impressed with the former Sunrise co-host, and want to find more for her to do.
