MUM CARNIE DISCOVERED HER NEW NANNY WAS A FRAUD AND EXPOSED HER LIES TO THE WORLD

Catching a CON WOMAN!

When Carnie advertised for a pair of helping hands during the school holidays, the mum of four had no idea she would become embroiled in a dangerous web of deceit.

“I posted in a Facebook group saying I was looking for an au pair,” says Carnie.

“I’d seen a girl named Harper advertising her services, so I messaged and asked if she was available, and she said she was.”

Little did Carnie know that ‘Harper’ was actually Samantha Azzopardi; a serial con woman with a long history of fraud. Her story, as well as Carnie’s, is being told in Channel Seven’s new two-part documentary Con Girl.

Born in 1988 in Sydney’s Campbelltown, Azzopardi first became known to police in 2007, when she claimed to be actress Dakota Johnson.

In 2013, she turned up in Ireland, posing as a 14-yearold trafficking victim. A year later she was in Canada, maintaining her name was Aurora Hepburn and that she was the victim of sexual assault at the hands of a cult.
