THIS QLD CITY CAME ALIVE WITH POPPINS FEVER
The streets of Maryborough, on Queensland's Fraser Coast, were lit up in a dazzling array of umbrellas, chimney sweeps and the odd kite (or hundred) last week in celebration of the Mary Poppins Festival.
The September 28 celebration brought together hundreds of Mary Poppins-lovers. The annual festival, which began in 2007, honours the novel's author, Pamela Lyndon Travers, who was born in Maryborough in 1899.
